Hi everyone! I am so excited to update you today. We started our weekly doctor appointments this week and got to see our baby girl one more time on the sono before we get to see her in person! She's weighing 5 pounds 11 ounces, has lots of hair, and the sweetest little face! She's in position and ready to go. Dr. C said I was dilated to a 1.5 already and my cervix had thinned 15% or 50% (Sean and I heard different numbers). So basically what that means is Dr. C definitely thinks I'll go before my due date and naturally go into labor. Hearing all of that made it so real and felt so close! I just can't wait to meet this little girl. I'm so glad Sean was with me for all of this but I think he may have started to panic :)
How far along: We are 36 weeks and ready to go! Even if she came now, I would be comfortable and know that she was perfectly healthy.
What I'm craving: I had the very best sushi roll this week. Yes, I ate sushi (and secretly have been eating small quantities throughout). But don't worry! I don't get the crazy stuff that they totally tell you to stay away from. And I always do it in qvery, very light moderation. But this week I had what's called a Yu Darvish Roll and it is crab and lobster tempura wrapped in seaweed and topped with spicy tuna, mango, and a bunch of sauces. It was so delicious and I can't wait to have another one. I also told Sean weeks ago that when I finally have this baby, I'd like for him to bring me my favorite sushi rolls in the hospital, as well as a white bread and honey turkey sandwich with Cool Ranch Doritos on it :) Now that I'm so close, I REALLY want the things I haven't had for the last 9 months.
How I'm feeling: Super excited can't you tell? Mommy and Jasmine have been here this week, so it's also been a lot of fun to have them here and be this close. My wonderful mommy is helping me clean the house and get laundry taken care of, so I'm really excited about those little details and finally getting them checked off my to do list. Physically, I'm feeling relatively well considering my size and the fact that my feet and hands started to get swollen this week. But she's moving around really well and that's all that matters :)
What I bought this week: Well our car seat came in and that's been the biggest stress-reliever. Now we can have it installed and put our hospital bags in the car and be totally ready to go. I still think I have at least 2 more weeks, but I love being overly prepared.
What I'm most excited about: Tomorrow, Sean gets his own little celebration! "Sean's Baby is Brewing" is the theme and we're getting together with a bunch of friends to celebrate. I had the very best baby showers with my girlfriends, but we also have some incredible friends that consists of lots of couples, guys, and girls and we wanted to share in this special time with them too. Some of our best friends are couples who I've met their wives through Sean's friendships with the husbands and we definitely want to do this parenting thing with them. We are so lucky to have them surrounding us during this time.
I am over the moon happy right now and can't wait to continue to update you on my progress! My official due date is July 9... when do you think it will actually be?
