Boy has it been a busy week! Last Monday, we did our maternity pictures and the sneak peek I've gotten so far is amazing!!! I can't wait to see the rest of them. My friend, Merrick Rhodes, with Merrick Rhodes Photography did the pictures and he is so talented. The lighting was perfect, he made Sean feel super comfortable, and he does not only weddings, but families, and now maternity! Definitely check him out... he is well worth it and not even crazy expensive like a lot of these Dallas photographers!
After the pictures, I worked one more day and then we jetted off to Seattle for a little babymoon. We were in Seattle for 4 days and had such a wonderful time. The weather is beautiful, regardless of rain, and the scenery is just breathtaking. I could definitely live up there... We started the first day by driving to Tacoma to see the high school where 10 Things I Hate About You was filmed. Sean and I both love that movie, so we wanted to see that incredible school and also looked for their house. We saw both and took pictures like the creepy fans we are. After that, we drove to Bremerton where we put our car on a giant ferry boat and rode the ferry to Seattle. That was also a really neat experience, as we've never done that with a car before and seeing the Seattle skyline from the water was really beautiful. Once we got to Seattle, we stopped by the Chihuly museum and then headed to our friends' house where we were staying. After a delicious seafood dinner in Ballard, we went home and crashed.
Day two was more of the touristy stuff. We went to Pike's Place and Downtown, University Village & Bellevue. Pike's Place was cool, but Sean didn't get to see anyone throw a giant fish, so that was a bummer. But I had one of the best crepes I've ever had and definitely the best clam chowder in the world at Pike's Place Chowder. It's a good thing we walked a lot that day, because I definitely ate a ton. We just wanted to try as much as we could: Breecher's Cheese, Piroshsky's, Biscuits, Crepes, Chowder, Molly Moos, etc. And my most favorite part of the day??? The Restoration Hardware in University Village. I could live there!
Our last full day we spent on a scenic drive through the southern part of the Cascade Mountains. I loved this part, because I could sit pretty much the whole day. We stopped and took pictures along the way as the mountains and forests and rivers were so serene. I even got a picture in the snow! We also stopped at this cute little Bavarian town in Leavenworth before heading to Snoqualmie Falls. I've never seen falls like that before and can only imagine what Niagara looks like. We did a little (1 mile hike), that had to be on a 70% incline because I had a really hard time getting up the mountain. Sean had to walk behind me and push. But I made it! And after that hike, I was ready to go back to Dallas. At that point, my body was aching and I just wanted to be in my safe place at home in case I went into labor!
We had the best travel day coming back on Saturday and I made it into my bed by 8:00pm. Sunday, I didn't get out of bed until close to 11:00, but had I not had a bunch of laundry and cleaning up to do, I probably could have stayed all day. I'm so glad Sean and I got to go on this trip together before Mini comes. I know things will definitely change when she gets here and I am so excited for that, but I definitely love this time with him. He's my very best friend and I just want to soak up as much time just the two of us as I can.
So for my bumpdate...
How far along: 30 weeks and we are in the home stretch! It feels so weird to be in the 30s now. She'll be here before we know it. She's measuring 3lbs 7oz right now and is in the 56th percentile.
What I'm craving: Right now, I'm wanting some more of the Clam Chowder. Because we were just trying so many foods that day, we only got a little cup to share and try. I wish I would have gotten a gigantic bowl :(
How I'm feeling: LARGE. I'm all belly, which is great, but it definitely makes it more painful because the weight is not evenly distributed. I've gained 19 pounds so far and that spot that constantly hurts is constantly hurting. Even when I go to bed, I can still feel pain. It now feels like a burn and my skin ripping, which means it's probably going to turn into a stretch mark. Unfortunately, I think this is something I will feel until the end of my pregnancy. Walking has become painful now because I feel weighed down, so now I'm not even working out like I wanted to continue to do.
What I bought this week: When we were in University Village, we stopped at the Amazon Bookstore. I love book stores and I heard this one was cool because everything is front facing, so we ended up buying Mini some of those Little Golden Books.
What I'm most excited about this week: The baby shower!!! We finally get to bring all of my friends together and celebrate our little baby girl! I haven't seen a lot of them since early in my pregnancy, so I can't wait to all be together and let them feel her move around. Here is her beautiful invitation and now you can finally know her name!
KENNEDY TAYLOR MOHN
Can't wait to tell you all about the shower this weekend!
