I am SOOO sorry that I didn't post yesterday! I woke up at 1:30 AM yesterday morning and could not go back to sleep. I had some work stuff on my mind, but I think I was also just super excited to get to the doctor, so I was running all day on about 4.5 hours of sleep. I was so busy at work that I didn't get to think about the blog, and when I got home after running a few errands, I literally fell asleep on the couch while I was eating my dinner. Sean was at a concert, so I grabbed some pasta from this delicious little New York style place, cuddled myself up in a robe and blanket, and ate while watching this special on the Royals. About half way through my food, my stomach was getting uncomfortable, so I put my alfredo down and laid on my side. I fell asleep within a few seconds I think and when I woke up, knew that I just had to get to bed. I went ahead and posted a picture to let you all know that I was thinking of you and going to post, but I was just too tired to write anything. So again, I'm so sorry for delaying!
But we are incredibly ecstatic to finally announce that we are having a little girl! At our 13 week ultrasound, the genetic doctor was pretty confident when he told us it was a girl. But I thought that was really early to see (or not see) anything on the ultrasound. We didn't do the blood test, so I figured we'd just wait until we did our 20 week full anatomy scan before we confirmed. Baby Girl was not being cooperative, however, and wouldn't show us a thing. We didn't even get a great profile picture as she was stretched across my belly facing my spine. They got a few measurements, but not the complete work-up that they wanted. The sonographer said that we would just have to wait until my next appointment to get the anatomy scan and confirm. I was like "NO! I can't wait 4 more weeks until I do stuff!" Thankfully, she moved for a split second and they were able to see just enough for them to confirm that we were having a girl. <3
From what they were able to see, she was growing right on target and perfectly healthy. She weighs about 10 ounces right now, and I've even gotten on track with my weight gain and Dr. C is very happy with how we both are holding up right now.
I feel so overwhelmed with joy now that we know for sure. I've been calling Mini Mohn a her for a while, but it feels even better to know that she really is there just as I've been imagining. Poor Sean... he is going to be covered in pink, glitter, and mermaid tails! But I think he will love it. Even though he's a handy man (even though you probably wouldn't think that by looking at him), super athletic, and would be a great boy dad, he is going to be so wrapped up in that little princess and I am just going to melt when I see them together.
Love you all so much and thank you for joining me and Sean on this journey!
